When Craig Conover was first pursuing his professional sewing dreams, he had a room in his home dedicated to working on his craft. However, now that his company, Sewing Down South, has become a success and he opened a Charleston store last year, the Southern Charm cast member is using his former sewing space quite differently.
In the video above, Craig explains that “the original sewing room” has been transformed into a spacious kitchen as part of his massive home renovation. “I could not be more in love with how the kitchen is coming around,” he declares, pointing out the “beautiful countertops,” “simple microwave drawer,” and matte black fridge he’s “obsessed” with.
However, there is one part of the space he regrets. “[I] went with a farmhouse sink. Some people like the divider, some people don’t,” he explains. “Now that I see it, I kind of wish I just left it completely open. But that’s for another day.”
On the August 4 episode of Southern Charm, Craig opened up about why finishing his kitchen renovation was so important to him. “If I had a kitchen, I would make you breakfast,” he told girlfriend Paige DeSorbo. In an interview, he added, “It’s pretty hard to play house without having a kitchen and living out of boxes.”
